Same for the execution of warrants from the Bishop of Sarum, Chancellor of the Garter, to Lord Lynn, for the provision of jewels as follows, viz.: For the Bishop of Sarum, said Chancellor, for his badge or jewel a Rose of gold enamelled red within a Garter, and St. George's cross on the reverse and one gold chain, at which said jewel is to be appendant, according to the usual form and weight as for any other Chancellor of the said Order.
And for the Bishop of Winchester, Prelate of the said Order, a jewel of gold enamelled with the figure of St. George on horseback killing the dragon, and encompassed with the Garter, and over it an episcopal mitre, to be worn on a gold chain or purple ribbon, all of weight, &c. as was made for the late Bishop of Winchester, Prelate of said Order. Order for the issue to the Treasurer of the Navy of 20,000l. for wages to ships as by his memorial of the 2nd instant.
The Attorney General's opinion, read, on the title of the trustees of Wm. Strode to the Lambhay, near the citadel of Plymouth. Agreed that 6,784l. appropriated for the purchase of those lands be paid on the trustees conveying same to the use of the Crown.

Warrant under the royal sign manual to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland for instructions to the Receiver General and Paymaster of His Majesty's revenues there to remit to the Paymaster General of the Forces in England 44,700l. 7s. 6d. due to the regiments of Col. Hamilton, Howard, Lanoe, Cornwallis, Hargrave, and Paget, from the day of their embarkations respectively, to 1734, October 24, and that of the Earl of Rothes from 1733, December 25, to 1734, December 25.

Royal sign manual to the Clerk of the Signet attending, to prepare a bill to pass the Privy Seal authorising the Treasury, in accordance with the clause for appropriating supplies, 1734, in the Act of last session, to make payment to Henry Pelham, Paymaster General of the Forces, of sums not exceeding 71,175l. by way of imprest and upon account for defraying the expenses of the augmentation of the forces.

162. J. Scrope to the Auditors of Imprests. Mr. W. Dawson, formerly clerk in the office for the classis lottery, 1711, has made application to the Treasury for their directions concerning the books and tickets belonging to said lottery, which he alleges to have been many years in his custody and for defraying the expense occasioned thereby. Their Lordships direct you to make out schedules or inventories in triplicate of all such books of accounts or other effects now in his possession as may be for the public service, and to receive such effects and preserve them for the public service in the record rooms belonging to your office at the Exchequer at Westminster, and, further, to consider of some remuneration for Dawson. Royal sign manual directed to Henry Pelham, Paymaster General of the Forces, and countersigned by the Treasury, for the payment to the King of Denmark, pursuant to the Privy Seal of 1734, December 11, of 39,937l. 10s. for the purposes following, viz.:—“25,575l. to answer the value of 115,000 crowns, being a moiety of 230,000 crowns payable by a treaty between us and our said good brother, dated the 19–30th September 1734, for levy money for a body of 6,000 Danish troops, whereof 1,000 horse at the rate of 80 crowns each, and 5,000 foot, at the rate of 30 crowns each, at 4s. 6d. each crown,” and 14,062l. 10s. “to answer the value of 62,500 crowns for a quarter of 250,000 crowns bank money of Hamburgh payable to our said good brother for an annual subsidy pursuant to the said treaty, which quarter becomes due the 19–30th December 1734, at 4s. 6d. each crown.” [King's Warrant Book XXXI. p. 403.] |

So prepare a warrant for that purpose according to His Majesty's pleasure signified by the Lord Lieutenant in his letter, dated the 17th instant.”

169. The Duke of Dorset to the Treasury, dated Whitehall. The King has ordered the removal of the foot regiments under the Earl of Effingham, Colonels John Hope, Thos. Paget, Thos. Howard, Wm. Hargrave, Stephen Cornwallis, Archibald Hamilton, and Charles Lanoe from the Irish establishment to that of Great Britain, as from October 25 last, and the addition to the several companies of foot regiments now remaining in Ireland under the Earl of Orkney, Brig. Gen. James Dormer, Col. Charles Otway, Brig. Gen. Sir James Wood, Major Gen. Andrew Bisset, Brig. Gen. John Moyle, Colonels Robert Murray and Thos. Wentworth, Maj. Generals Rich. Sutton and Robert Dalzell, and the regiment lately commanded by Maj. Gen. Nicholas Price, deceased, of one sergeant, corporal, drummer and 26 privates to each company, to be raised and paid for from the savings on the Irish establishment by the removal of the said eight regiments, the said savings from October 25 to December 25 to be issued as levy money for the above, and thenceforward as pay in the usual way. Desires the Treasury to order the proper instrument to be prepared according for royal signature. 2½ pages.
