Grant by Robert de Bolton, the master, and the chaplains, of the chantry or college of Wyngfeld, to Sir John May, clerk, for his life, of a yearly rent of 21l. from their said house, and from all their lands &c. in Suffolk and elsewhere in England; with a proviso that if the grantee is hereafter appointed by them to any prebend &c. of the same value, the present grant is to be void. Receipt by Lucy late the wife of Sir Edmund, earl of Kent, for 18l. received from the citizens of Chichester, of the fee farm of that city, for Michaelmas term last past, the king having granted to the said Lucy and to John Bache all the lands and rents &c. of Edmund, late earl of Kent, to hold from the said earl's death as long as they should remain in the king's hands. Grant by John Walter of Tenby, and Eleanor his wife, that the rent of six messuages in the same, granted by them to Richard . . . ., and William . . . . . ., chaplains, and Thomas Geffrey, by fine levied in the county named, may be paid to John Wyse, yearly, by the said grantees, until the sum of 20l. has been so paid; if the grantors sell or alienate &c. the premises after payment of the said sum, the said John Wyse is to have the right of pre-emption, but if the grantors do not wish to sell the premises after payment of the said 20l. then the said grantees shall reenfeoff the grantors with the premises &c. Indenture between Richard, bishop of Salisbury and late bishop of Chichester, and Hugh de Byseley, on behalf of the said bishop, of the one part, and Walter Bristowe, monk, the king's farmer of the alien priory of Wylmyngton, of the other, witnessing that the said bishop and the said Hugh have delivered to the said Walter all the live and dead stock specified, viz., household goods, furniture, oxen, sheep, hogs, implements of husbandry, oats, money, &c. and 6l. on account of waste and repairs during the occupation of the said bishop and Hugh, late farmers there.
