Sale by John Hodgeson, citizen and merchant tailor of London, to John Arnold alias Gillam of Clanfield, yeoman, of all his interest in the remainder of a lease for thirty years of a mease or tenement and three yard lands in Clanfield, formerly leased by Thomas Farmor of Chynnor, esquire, to Alexander Arnolde alias Gillam of Clanfeld, for the above term, and which lease was afterwards made over to the said John Hodgeson by John Seymour of Cote in the parish of Bampton, gentleman, and the said Alexander. 2 February, 17 Elizabeth. Grant by Richard the abbot, and the convent of St. Peter's, Salop (Shrewsbury), to John Lye, for his life, of the office of porter of the abbey, after the death or surrender of John Harrys, with a daily allowance of one white loaf called 'le myche,' and one black one called 'le browne looff,' a gallon of ale and one penny 'pro coquina sua' or the pastures which the said John Harrys lately had, in lieu of the said daily penny, also 26s. 8d. yearly, and one robe when such is given to the other servants &c. 22 October, A.D. 1505. 21 Henry VII.
Salop. A. 5404. Bond by Thomas Mytton and Roger Foster, bailiffs and burgesses of the town of Salop, to Richard the abbot, and the convent of SS. Peter and Paul, Salop, for 500 marks. 25 October, 20 Henry VII.
Underwritten: Condition of above bond witnessing that if the said bailiffs and burgesses shall perform the judgment of the arbitrators with regard to certain franchises, lands, suits, tolls, &c. in dispute between the above parties, then the above bond shall be void. English.
