Ipswich, Sunday after St. Hilary, 4 Edward III.

Agreement between Walter the chaplain, and Thomas the harper (Citheratorem), of Wiremundeford, his brother, whereby the latter pawns to Walter, for 5½ marks, 12 acres in Fordham parish of William de Blancmuster's fee, viz. a field called 'Pirifeld' and barn therein, for fifteen years from Michaelmas next after the Translation of St. Thomas, Archbishop of Canterbury, 3s. being deducted for each year. At the end of the term Thomas shall regain the land on payment of 28s. 4d., otherwise Walter shall hold it, deducting 2s. yearly, till Thomas do redeem it. Indenture witnessing, that whereas Sir Nicholas de Sparkeford has acquired a tenement in Hintlesham, to which belongs right of way, with cart and animals, on a certain road east of the messuage of John Costin, the younger; the latter, for his greater convenience, has transferred the said road to the west side of his messuage, and granted Sir Nicholas similar right of way thereon, without right of pasturing his animals. Endorsed: Note that Sir John grants that if Peter make him secure of land in Neuton, a yearly rent of 3s. 4d. in his manor there, and the advowson of Neuton church, bought by him from Peter, then this bond shall be void.
