St. Swithin Candelwikstrete: on 13 October, 9 Henry V., William, the
prior, and the said convent came into the Common Council before William
Cauntbrigge, Mayor, and the commonalty, and desired that if they pulled
down a bulging stone wall, enclosing their churchyard, they might put up a
new erect wall by taking in a piece of common soil about the middle of the
wall 4 ft. 4 ins. wide by 20 ft. long, and they would not exact the said 10s.
rent so long as the commonalty allowed them quietly to possess their new
wall and did not exact the 9s. rent. The commonalty considering that the
leaning wall is ugly and very dangerous to passers by, unanimously granted
