Privilege-Members not to be Sheriffs.

The House being informed, that Sir Edmund Jennings, a Member of this House, is made High Sheriff of the County of Yorke;

And a Debate arising thereupon;

The Question being propounded, That it is a Breach of the Privilege of this House for any Member thereof to be made a Sheriff during the Continuance of the Parliament;

A Motion being made, That these Words, "without his Will and Consent," be Part of the Question;

Privilege-Lords Jurisdiction; Shirley v. Fagg.

Resolved, &c. That this House will To-morrow Morning, at Ten of the Clock, proceed in the Consideration of the Matter concerning the Appeal brought by Thomas Shirley Esquire, in the House of Lords, against Sir John Fagg, a Member of this House.

Supply Bill; Customs and Shipbuilding.

Ordered, That Sir John Duncombe, Sir Robert Howard, and Sir George Downing, be added to the Committee to whom it is referred to bring in the Bills for appropriating the Customs to the Use of the Navy; and for raising the Supply for the Providing, Equipping, and Furnishing, the Twenty Ships united and annexed, according to the several Votes of this House.
