Prayers.

Thornhaugh's Claims.

ORDERED, That the Commissioners for Compounding with Delinquents be, and are hereby, authorized and required forthwith to pay unto Elizabeth Thornhaugh, late Wife and Executrix of Colonel Francis Thornhaugh, or her Assigns, such Monies as they shall find yet due to him, out of the Rents and Profits of the Estate of Thomas Markham, a Papist in Arms, upon the Ordinance of 22 Octobris 1647; and also what remains due to him upon the Act of Parliament of 27 Augusti 1649, of the 2,341 l. 14 s. 7d. thereby ordered to the said Colonel Thornhaugh: And the Acquittance of the said Elizabeth Thornhaugh, or her Assigns, shall be their sufficient Discharge for Payment thereof accordingly.

Sanderson's Discoveries.

The humble Petition of Lieutenant Nicholas Sanderson, was this Day read.

Ordered, That the Commissioners for Compounding with Delinquents be, and are hereby, authorized and required to pay and satisfy unto Lieutenant Nicholas Saunderson the Moiety of such Monies as shall come in upon the Discovery of the said Nicholas Sanderson of Papists and Delinquents Estates, concealed, or not sequestred, according to former Order of 31 Augusti 1649, made by the Committee for advance of Money: And the Acquittance and Acquittances of the said Lieutenant Nicholas Saunderson, or his Assigns, shall be their sufficient Discharge for Payment thereof accordingly.

Grant to Zachary.

The humble Petition of Jocina, late Wife of Captain Robert Zachary, was this Day read.

Ordered, That the Sum of Two hundred Pounds be paid and satisfied unto Jocina, late Wife of Captain Robert Zachary, who was slain in the Parliament Service, towards the Reparation of their Loss and Charges sustained: And that the said Two hundred Pounds be charged upon Haberdashers Hall, in Course: And the Commissioners for Compounding are hereby authorized and required to pay the said Two hundred Pounds unto the said Jocina, or her Assigns: And the Acquittance and Acquittances of the said Jocina shall be their sufficient Payment thereof accordingly.

Army.

Major General Harrison presents from the Council of Sate,

"That the Regiments of Colonel Haine and Colonel Bennett be continued in pay for Three Months longer, after the Expiration of the Pay already assigned."

"That, whereas it is held necessary there should be Fifteen hundred Horse and Dragoons sent speedily into Lancashire, to prevent and resist any Impression that may be made into those Parts; that, for the making up of that Number, the Parliament would give Order to the Committee of the Army to receive into Pay, for Three Months, as the rest of the Army is paid, One Troop of Horse of Cheshire, One Troop of Horse of Northamptonshire, One Troop of Horse of Lancashire, One Troop of Horse of Derbyshire, One Troop of Horse of Leicestershire, and One Troop of Horse of Nottinghamshire, and One Troop of Dragoons of Herefordshire, and One Troop of Dragoons under the Command of Captain Chaplayne; their Pay to begin from Thursday last, if the Parliament shall please to give Order for their receiving into Pay as aforesaid."

Resolved, That Nine Troops of Horse and Dragoons, that is to say, One Troop of Horse of Cheshire, One Troop of Horse of Northamptonshire, One Troop of Horse of Lancashire, One Troop of Horse of Derbishire, One Troop of Horse of Leicestershire, One Troop of Horse of Nottinghamshire, One Troop of Dragoons of Herefordshire, One Troop of Dragoons under the Command of Captain Chaplin, and the Troop in Bucks under Captain Russell, consisting of Sixty Horse and Forty Dragoons, each of the said Troops consisting of One hundred, besides Officers, be received into Pay for Three Months, to begin from Thursday last, as the rest of the Army is paid: And that the Committee of the Army be authorized and required to take care for the Payment of them accordingly.

Publick Fast.

Resolved, That a Day be appointed for a Day of solemn Fasting and Humiliation, for Seeking of God for a Blessing upon the Proceedings of the Councils and the Forces, both by Sea and Land, of this Commonwealth.

Resolved, That Thursday Sevennight, being the Thirteenth Day of March Instant, be the Day set apart for that Purpose; to be observed in all Places within the Cities of London and Westminster, the late Lines of Communication, and Weekly Bills of Mortality, and within Ten Miles thereof.

Resolved, That Wednesday-month, being the Second Day of April 1651, be set apart as a Day of Publick Humiliation, for the Ends aforesaid; to be observed in all other Places within England, Wales, and Town of Berwick.

Resolved, That Mr. Owen, Mr. John Simson, of Alhallowes, London, and Mr. Leigh, be desired to pray and preach before the Parliament on Thursday 13 Martii, Instant, in the Church of Margarett's Westminster.

And Sir William Marsham is to give Notice hereof to Mr. Owen.

And Mr. Gurdon is to give Notice hereof to Mr. Leigh.

And Major General Harrison is to give Notice hereof to Mr. John Simpson.

Ordered, That Mr. Gurdon, Mr. Scott, Sir Wm. Masham, and the Lord Commissioner Whitelock, do prepare a Declaration, setting forth the Grounds and Reasons for setting apart the said Day for a Day of Publick Fasting and Humiliation.

Delinquents Concealmonts.

Resolved, That it be referred to the Committee to whom the Bill for the General Pardon, and Act of Oblivion, is committed, to consider what is fit to be offered to the House, for making the best Advantage to the Commonwealth of the Undervalues and Concealments of Delinquents, who have compounded; and to present their Opinion to the House.

Resolved, That it be referred to the same Committee, upon the whole Debate of the House this Day, to offer what they shall think sit to be done therein; and to report the same to the House.

Resolved, That the Committee to whom the Bill for the General Pardon, and Act of Oblivion, was committed, be revived: And that Colonel Purefoy, Mr. Robinson, Mr. Dove, Mr. John Goodwin, Mr. Moyle, Mr. Say, Lord Grey, Major Salway, Colonel Fielder, Mr. Holland, Colonel Morley, Mr. Edwards, Colonel Marten, Sir Arthur Hesilrig, Colonel Bossevile, Sir Thomas Wroth, Mr. Aldworth, Mr. Garland, Mr. Whittaker, Mr. Skinner, Mr. Clement, Sir John Danvers, Mr. Ashe, Colonel Rich, and Mr. Leman, be added to that Committee: And all that come to have Voices: And this Committee are to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber; and so every Wednesday.

And the Care hereof is referred to Mr. Attorney General and Colonel Purefoy.

Invalid Soldiers.

The humble Petition of divers maimed Soldiers of Ely House London, and the humble Petition of the sick and lame Soldiers in Ely House Hospital, were this Day read.

Resolved, That the said Petitions be referred to the Committee for Hospitals, and maimed Soldiers: And that they do present a sit Man, to the House, to be Overfeer of the said Hospital: And that Mr. Holland do take care hereof.

Delinquents Estates.

Ordered, That the Debate upon the Amendments to the Act for Sale of Delinquents Estates be taken up Tomorrow Morning, the first Business; nothing to intervene: And that the House do proceed thereupon, de die in diem, until the said Act be passed: And that Mr. Speaker do put the House in mind thereof.

Resolved, That Mr. Speaker do take the Chair Tomorrow at Ten of the Clock, notwithstanding the former Order.
