Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for assuring the Farm and Demesnes of Dam'ham, and other Lands in Wiltshire, according to His Majesty's Grant, and a former Grant made by King Edward the Sixth.

Persons Naturalized, or restored in Blood, to take the Oaths.

The Bill, That all such as are to be Naturalized, or restored in Blood, shall first receive the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper, and the Oath of Allegiance, and the Oath of Supremacy, was sent down to the Commons House, by Sir John Tyndale and Mr. Grymston, for Consideration of the Amendments added by the Lords.

Assuring the Demesnes of Damerham.

And by the same Messengers was then also sent down the Bill for assuring the Farm and Demesnes of Dam'ham, and other Lands in Wiltsbire, according to His Majesty's Grant, and a former Grant made by King Edward the Sixth.

Sir Robert Drury's Bill. Expedit.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for Confirmation of Three several Writings indented, purporting and setting forth the Revocations of Three several Conveyances, or Assurances, made by Sir Robert Drury, Knight, unto divers Persons, upon natural Considerations only.

For the better Execution of Justice in the North Parts of England.

The Bill for the better Execution of Justice, and suppressing of Criminal Offenders, in the North Parts of the Kingdom of Englande, was brought into the House, by the Lord Privy Seal, one of the Committees; who reported the Opinion of the Lords Committees, after due Consideration had of the same Bill and Proviso, to be, That the same is fit to pass, with the Proviso; but the said Proviso to be fit in one Point to be altered, videlicet, where it is provided, that the Nobility or Peers of this Realm of Englande shall be exempted, so as this Act shall not extend to them; the Committees, by Advice of the Lords the Judges, do conceive it very convenient, that the Word "[Nobility]" be left out, in respect that albeit the Sons of Dukes and Earls are noble, yet are they not pares dignitate with the Peers of the Realm, nor to be tried by their Peers. Lastly, his Lordship declared, That the Committees hold it convenient, that a Conference be desired with the Commons House, concerning the said Bill and Proviso.

The Motion was generally approved; and thereupon Agreed, That To-morrow a Message shall be sent to the Lower House, for a Conference concerning the said Bill; the Proviso to be taken in the mean time from the Bill, and the Effect thereof, with such Alteration as from the Lords Committees hath been moved, shall be endeavoured at the Conference.

To cancel Leases made to the King to try other Men's Titles.

Appointed, That the Committees in the Bill, intituled, An Act to make void Leases, and other Conveyances, made to the King's Majesty, of Purpose to try other Men's Titles, shall forthwith withdraw themselves, and take Consideration thereof; and the Lord Chief Justice of Englande to be added to the Lords the Judges who are to attend.

Assignments of Debts to His Majesty.

And was referred to the same Committees who were formerly nominated for the Bill next aforementioned; videlicet, to make void Leases, etc. namely,

To cancel Leases made to the King to try other Men's Titles.

The Bill to make void Leases, and other Conveyances, made to the King, of Purpose to try other Men's Titles, was brought into the House, by the Lord Treasurer, first of the Committee, who declared, That the Lords Committees, having taken Consideration thereof, do find the Preamble to be, in respect of some Aspersions, offensive; and, albeit they hold the Drift of the Bill good, and to tend to Reformation of that which they think likewise fit to be amended, yet do they judge the Frame thereof such as cannot be well amended; wherefore his Lordship concluded with the Motion of the said Lords Committees; videlicet, That the Bill aforesaid do rest, and a new (fn. 1) one to the same Effect to be drawn.

A new Bill for the same Purpose to be brought in.

Accordingly it was ORDERED, That a new Bill shall be drawn by some of the Lords the Judges, and brought into the House; for which Purpose the said Bill was appointed to rest, and was delivered to the Lord Chief Justice of England, for his Lordship's Ease in drawing the new Bill as aforesaid.

Assignment of Debts to His Majesty.

The Lord Treasurer also brought into the House the Bill concerning some Manner of Assignments of Debts to His Majesty, with some Amendments added by the Committees; which Amendments were presently Twice read, and the Bill appointed, with the said Amendments, to be ingrossed.

Reparation of a Wear on the Exe, near Exeter.

Appointed, That the Committees of the Bill for Continuance and Reparation of a new-built Wear, upon the River of Exe, near the City of Exeter, shall meet, for Consideration thereof, on Tuesday, the 3d of July, at Eight of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Little Chamber, near the Parliament (fn. 2) Presence.

7. An Act for the Naturalizing of Edward Palmer and Henry Palmer, Sons of William Palmer of Vleshing, and of Michaell Boyle, the Son of James Boyle, Citizen and Mercer of London.

Ld. Chamberlain's Privilege. Heynes arrested.

Upon Signification given to this House, That Thomas Heynes, Gentleman, a Servant in ordinary to the Lord Chamberlain, hath been of late arrested, at the Suit of Sir William Clifton, Knight, contrary to the Honour and Privilege of the High Court of Parliament; it was by the Lords ORDERED, That as well the said Sir William Clifton as John Crowch, an Attorney, who caused the said Arrest, and Roger Taylor, Serjeant at Mace, and Wilkinson, his Yeoman, who made the same Arrest, and Abraham Fowler, Servant to Collwick, Clerk of the Papers in The Compter in, who also gave Direction in that Behalf, shall be brought into the Court, by the Serjeant at Arms attending the House, upon Thursday next, the 5th of this Instant July, by Nine of the Clock in the Morning, to answer for their Contempt and Breach of Privilege of the said Court.
