Hospital, School, and Preacher in Thetford.

THE Bill, intituled, An Act for the Foundation of an Hospital, a Grammar School, and Maintenance of a Preacher, in the Town of Thetford, for ever, according to the last Will and Testament of Richard Fulmerston, Knight, was brought into the House by the Lord Bishop of London, one of the Committees, who signified, That the Committees had met, and took Consideration of the said Bill; that they thought fit to make some Amendments and Addition thereunto; and that the Person whom their Lordships required to write the said Amendments did, by Misprision, write some of the said Amendments in the Body of the Bill; by reason whereof the Lords Committees had caused a new Bill to be drawn, agreeing in all Things with the old, as the same stood by their Lordships amended; and thereupon delivered into the Court as well the said old Bill as the new; and prayed that the same might be read as a new Bill.

Maintenance of Husbandry, &c.

The Bill, intituled, An Act for the Continuing and better Maintenance of Husbandry, and other Manual Occupations, by the true Employment of Monies given, and to be given, for the binding out of Apprentices, was brought into the House, by the Lord Archbishop of Yorke, the first of the Committees, without Amendment or Addition.

1. An Act to explain One Branch, contained in the Statute of Anno Primo Eliz. intituled, An Act restoring to the Crown the ancient Jurisdiction over the State Ecclesiastical and Spiritual, and abolishing all Foreign Jurisdiction repugnant to the same.

2. An Act against the Common Abuse of Assignment of Debts to His Majesty, towards the Satisfaction of Debts due and owing to His Highness by Accomptants, and touching Debts growing to the King by Forfeiture.

3. An Act to avoid the double Payment of Debts.

To disunite the Parsonage of Ashe and Deane.

Upon the Motion of the Lord Say, informing That the Matter of the Bill for the dis-uniting of the Parsonages of Ash and Deane doth concern the Executors of Sir James Deane, Knight, deceased; and that the said Executors have the Instrument of the Union of the said Parsonages, which, as his Lordship conceived, if it may be seen, will give much Light to the Cause; it was by the House Ordered, That Notice of the Time and Place for Meeting of the Lords Committees upon the said Bill shall be given unto Sir John Jolles, and others the Executors of the said Sir James Deane; videlicet, Sir James Lancaster, Andrew Holden, John Chamb'lane, and to Fitz, a Scrivener, and to such other Persons whom the Matter of the said Bill may concern, with Signification, That the House holdeth it fit, for the better Manifestation of the Truth in the Business, that the said Persons, and every of them, in whose Custody the Instrument of the said Union doth remain, do bring the same, and all such other Writings as they or any of them have touching the Premisses, with him and them, at such Time as they shall attend the said Lords Committees.

And because, since the said Bill was first committed, Mr. Justice Yelv'ton, one of the Justices then appointed to attend the Lords Committees, is gone forth of Town, it is by the House Ordered, That Mr. Justice Warberton shall attend in his Place. And whereas Mr. Justice Danyell, one of the Justices appointed to attend the Lords Committees on the Bill of Brokers, is dead since the same Bill was committed, Mr. Baron Altome is appointed to attend in his Place.

L. Norris's Privilege. Lodar discharged.

This Day, the Under-Sheriff's Deputy of Midd. brought William Lodar, the Lord Norrice's Servant, before the Lords, according to a Writ of Habeas corpus, by virtue of a Warrant, out of this House, formerly directed to him in that Behalf, whereupon the said Lodar was set at Liberty, and delivered out of Execution, according to the Statute of Primo of the King's Majesty, and the Opinion of the Lords the Judges delivered in this House on Wednesday last; and forasmuch as the Under-Sheriff's said Deputy protested, that, at such Time as the said Lodar was taken in Execution, he understood not thereof, therefore he was discharged of any further Attendance; and, because it was affirmed, that Edwarde Piers, at whose Suit the said Lodar was taken in Execution, and Thomas Blount, the Attorney, by whose Procurement the same was done, were lately gone forth of Town; and also their Lordships being informed, that John Lamynge, Thomas Walby, and Stephen Younge, who, as Bailiffs to the Sheriff of Middlesex, took the said Lodar in Execution, did now withdraw and absent themselves, it is Ordered, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House shall, as soon as he conveniently may, bring before the Lords in this House as well the said Edward Piers and Thomas Blount, as the said John Lamynge, Thomas Walby, and Stephen Younge, to answer for their Contempt of the Privilege of the said Court.

Absent Lords excused.

The Lord Archbishop of Cant. excused by the Lord Chancellor for Absence, occasioned by Want of Health; and his Lordship also excused the Lord Bishop of Chichest', for that, by reason of my Lord Archbishop of Cant.'s Sickness, he was occasioned also to be absent.

The Chancellor likewise excused all the Lords of His Majesty's Council of Absence, for that they are presently, by His Majesty, employed on other Business.
