Prayers.
Duke of Buckingham, &c.
A LETTER directed to the Lord Mayor, Aldermen, and Commons of the City of London, in Common Council assembled, of 5 Julii 1648; and subscribed, Holland, G. Buckingham, Peterburgh; with a Declaration of their Intentions inclosed; were this Day read.
The Question was propounded, That this House doth declare, That the Duke of Bucks, Earl of Holland, Earl of Peterborough, and all that have or shall adhere to them, have and do levy War against the Parliament and Kingdom; and are Traitors and Rebels; and ought to be proceeded against, as Traitors and Rebels:
And the Question being put, That this Question be now put;
It passed with the Affirmative.
Resolved, &c. That this House doth declare, That the Duke of Bucks, Earl of Holland, Earl of Peterborough, and all that have or shall adhere to them, have and do levy War against the Parliament and Kingdom; and are Traitors and Rebels; and ought to be proceeded against, as Traitors and Rebels.
Ordered, That the several Committees in the several Counties and Places where there lies any of the Estates, real or personal, of the Duke of Bucks, Earl of Holland, Earl of Peterborough, or any other, that have or shall adhere to them, in this Action of levying War against the Parliament and Kingdom, do forthwith proceed to the Sequestration of their Estates real and personal.
Ordered, That these Votes be forthwith printed.
Safety of Nottingham.
Ordered, That Mr. Francis Pierrepoint, and Mr. Pigott, be desired to go into the County of Nottingham, to employ their Endeavours for the Safety and Defence of that County.
Lincolnshire Forces.
Ordered, That Mr. Nelthorpe do prepare and bring in an Ordinance for giving Power to the Committee of the County of Lincolne to raise Fifteen hundred Pounds per Month in the said County, for raising and maintaining a Regiment of Foot, for the Safety and Defence of that County.
Securing King's Person.
Mr. Green reports an Answer of the Common Council, in Writing, of 6 Julii 1648, touching what Engagement they have made for securing the King's Person and Parliament during the Treaty, if the King should come to London: The which was read.
House to sit.
Resolved, &c. That this House do sit To-morrow, and on Monday, notwithstanding the former Order of Adjournment from Fridays till Tuesdays.
The Question was propounded, For discharging the Order of Adjournment from Friday till Tuesdays:
And the Question being put, Whether this Question shall be now put;
It passed with the Negative.
Message from Lords.
A Message from the Lords, by Dr. Heath and Mr. Hakewill;
The Lords have commanded us to communicate unto you, a Letter from Sir George Aiscough, a Commander at Sea, who is come in with his Ship the Lion, to Portesmouth; with the Lord Admiral's Answer: The Petition of Captain Henry Jervoice; which they recommend to this House: A Desire of some Persons to go into Munster in Ireland, to bring away their Families and Goods: The Petition of Anne, Alice, and Valentine Hamilton, Daughters of Sir Claude Hamilton Knight, deceased.
A Message from the Lords, by Mr. Hakewill and Mr. Page;
The Lords have commanded us to deliver unto you Three Votes upon the Londoners Petition: In which they desire the Concurrence of this House: And, in regard the Votes refer to the Petition, they have likewise sent the Petition:-A Letter from Colonel Hamond, Governor of the Isle of Wight, touching the Admission of the Lord Rich to the King: Which they do especially recommend to this House for a Concurrence:-An Ordinance for Mr. George Payler, and other Officers of the Ordnance: In which they desire the Concurrence of this House:-A Petition of Mr. John Coppin: Which they recommend to the Consideration of this House:-The Petition of Mr. Abraham Dowcett: Touching which the Lords declare, That they think sit he should have his Liberty forthwith upon good Bail, that he may attend the King's Council concerning the Business of Major Rolph; wherein the Concurrence of the House of Commons is desired. They desire to put the House in mind of some Persons for Deputy Lieutenants for Leicestershire, formerly sent to this House, They do recommend unto you the Petition of Mr. Jessop.-A Report from Derby House, touching the Mewes for the Horse Guards: In which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
Navy.
Resolved, &c. That this House doth approve of the Letter from the Lord Admiral to the Captain, Officers, and Company of the Ship Lion; and do order, That Notice be taken of the good Services of the Captain, Officers, and Company of the Ship Lion; and return them the Thanks of this House for their good Affections: And that Mr. Sallwey junior do prepare a Letter to that Purpose, to be sent to the said Officers and Company.
Ordered, That this Letter from Sir George Aiscue, and the Admiral's Answer to it, be forthwith printed.
Copleie's, &c. Petitions.
Ordered, That Colonel Copleie's Petition be read Tomorrow Morning, the first Business; and nothing to intervene.
It is Ordered, That, next, Colonel Herbert's Petition Colonel James Hopton's, and Sir Arthur Blundell's * * *.
Jervoise's Arrears.
Ordered, That the Sum of Five hundred Pounds be forthwith paid, upon Account, unto Captain Henry Jervoise, or his Assignee, in Part of the Arrears due to the said Captain Jervoise, upon his Entertainment in the Service of the Parliament at Land, out of such concealed Delinquents Estates, as he, or any for him, shall discover to the Committee of Lords and Commons, usually sitting at Haberdashers Hall; or out of the Surplussage of such Delinquents Estates, to be discovered as aforesaid, as have compounded at Goldsmiths Hall, at Undervalues: And the said Committee is hereby authorized to take such Course, and proceed as effectually, upon such Discoveries, for the bringing in of the said Monies, and paying of the same to the said Captain Jervoyse, as in other Cases, for Advance of Monies, they usually do.

Answer returned to the First Message, by the same Messengers; That this House doth agree with the Lords, in approving of the Letter from the Admiral to the Captain, Officers, and Company of the Ship Lyon: And, to the other Particulars of that Message, the House will send Answer by Messengers of their own.
Answer returned to the Second Message, by the same Messengers;
The House has considered their Lordships Message: And, as to Mr. Abraham Dowcett's having his Liberty forthwith, upon Bail, that he may attend the King's Counsel concerning the Business of Major Rolf, they do agree: And, to all the other Particulars of that Message, the House will send Answer by Messengers of their own.
