Royal warrant to the Attorney or Solicitor General for a great seal to erect an office of auditor of all accounts arising by Hearthmoney and to grant said office to William Mann with full authority to inspect, examine and audit all the books, entries and accounts of Commissioners, Receivers General, cashiers, collectors, accountants, clerks etc. employed in said revenue: to hold during pleasure with the salary of 200l. per an. and allowance of 120l. per an. for keeping two clerks to be constantly employed under him: the first quarterly payment of said salaries to be at Michaelmas next. The said auditor is from time to time to give accounts of the produce of said revenue to the Treasury Lords
when thereto required and is to observe the orders of said Lords in all matters relating to his said office which the King thinks it expedient to his service to create "to the end we may not be defrauded therein and that we may know the true value of that revenue and how it arises." |

Royal warrant to the Attorney or Solicitor General for a great seal for a grant to Richard Graham and Philip Burton, esqrs., and William Shaw, gent., of all the honors, castles, lordships, manors, messuages, farms, woods, underwoods, lands and hereditaments whatsoever within the counties of Northumberland, Durham, Essex and Sussex or elsewhere in England which were late the lands and possessions of Ford, Lord Grey, and became forfeited to the King on said Lords attainder: all for the term of 21 years upon trust to raise out of the rents and arrears thereof or by sale or mortgage the sum of 16,000l. to be disposed of in such manner and to be paid into the Exchequer as the King shall appoint by his sign manual: but with proviso that if the King shall pay said 16,000l. to said Graham, Burton and Shaw, then this intended grant shall be void. |
